Day 1: Arrive in Istanbul

Arrive in Istanbul. You will be greeted at the airport and transferred to selected hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2: Full day Istanbul 

After short stop at historical Spice Market built 1664 as part of New Mosque, take a boat for the cruise along the Bosphorus. After lunch, drive to old town (Sultanahmet area).  Visit Hagia Sophia Museum, the biggest church constructed by the East Roman Empire in Istanbul that has been reconstructed three times in the same location. Then visit big underground water reservoir Underground Cistern famous with its marble columns. The most joyful stop will be at Grand Bazaar one of the oldest & largest covered bazaar consists more than 4000 shops.

At the end of the tour, transfer back to hotel. Overnight in Istanbul

Day 3: Istanbul - Cappadocia

Early in the morning transfer to Istanbul airport for flight to Kayseri or Nevsehir (both airports are located 30-45 minute drive to Cappadocia). Drive to Cappadocia & start the day with Devrent Valley called the lunar landscape where can be seen various types of fairy chimneys. Continue other amazing valley visit of Pasabagi (Monk's Valley) and see St. Simeon Church and mushroom shaped fairy chimneys. Drive to Avanos which is famous with pottery work, a craft dating back to the Hittite period. After pottery demonstration in Avanos, drive to Goreme Open Air Museum & visit the region's best collection of painted cave-churches and also chapels and monasteries varying from 10th to 13th centuries. Have photo stops for the beautiful landscape before driving back to the hotel.


Day 4: Cappadocia 

Before sunrise optional “Hot Air Balloon” tour, best way to enjoy the view of the region.

Start the day with the visit of Rose Valley; explore the famous rock-cut churches by walking through the valley. Continue to Cavusin is an old Greek village, well known for its Christian houses and churches. After lunch time, visit Ortahisar Castle, 90m high natural fortress. The region is famous with its 36 cities located underground and there you will visit Kaymakli (or Ozkonak) Underground City.  These troglodyte cave-cities were excavated as early as Hittite times, and expanded over the centuries as various marauding armies traversed Central Anatolia in search of captives and plunder. Before drive back to the hotel, enjoy local wine tasting. Overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 5: Cappadocia

Drive to Ihlara Valley, created from the ashes of the volcanic Mt. Hasan. It formed thousands of years ago. Its gorge expands up to the 14 kilometers and reaches 100 meters deep in most places. The valley was home to a large community of people for many centuries so  there are hundreds of old churches located within the volcanic rock caves. In the afternoon, visit to Derinkuyu Underground Village where dwellings with stables, cellars, storage rooms, refectories, churches and wineries were used as refuges for the Christian communities. Overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 6: Cappadocia - Istanbul

Transfer to Kayseri or Nevsehir airport for flight back to Istanbul. Afternoon, visit one of the most impressive mosques with its six minarets Blue Mosque and Topkapı Palace Museum was constructed between 1460 and 1478 by Sultan Fatih Mehmed. The palace served as the home for the Ottoman dynasty and their court until the middle of 19th century. Overnight in Istanbul 

Day 7: Istanbul 

Visit Suleymaniye Mosque built by the most important architect of Ottoman era, Arhitect Sinan, it is Istanbul's largest mosque complex consists hospital, soup kitchen, hammam, library and medrese (school).Then visit the Museum of Kariye (the Church of St. Saviour in Chora), a medieval Byzantine Greek Orthodox church built in early 4th century. Before drive back to the hotel, enjoy the tour around the Golden Horn. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 8: Departure  

Transfer to the airport for flight back home.
