THE DAYS OF JEWS IN ANATOLIA



Day 1:  Home - İstanbul

Arrival in İstanbul. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight. (D)

Day 2: İstanbul

Visiting the old Jewish districts around Galata – Karaköy, Balat, Hasköy and Kuzguncuk together with Neve Shalom, Italian, ashkenazi, ahrida, Beth Ya’akov synagogues, Camondo’s mausoleum and Hasköy Cemetery. (B)

Day 3: İstanbul - Çanakkale

Departure for Çanakkale , via Tekirdağ, once a home for Jewish population. Visiting Troy, the mythological center of the far-famed “Trojan War”. Dinner and overnight in Çanakkale. (B, D)

Day 4: Çanakkale - İzmir

Departure for İzmir. On the way visiting Pergamum with its Acropolis and Asclepieum, the most celebrated therapeutic center. Tour around the old Jewish districts in İzmir with its Synagogues. Dinner and overnight in İzmir. (B, D)

Day 5: İzmir - Kuşadası

Visiting Ephesus, the world famous antique city, the House of Virgin Mary, the Basilica of St. John, the Museum of Archeology. Dinner and overnight in Kuşadası. (B, D)

Day 6: Kuşadası – Sardis - Bursa

Departure for Bursa. On the way visiting Sardis, the capital of the ancient kingdom of Lydia, where a Jewish Synagogue of 3rd A.D. has been uncovered and partially restored. Visiting the church in Sardis, built on the foundations of the Temple of Artemis. Visiting Yerusch Synagogue in Bursa where Jews spent their happy days 2100 years ago. Dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day 7: Bursa - İstanbul

Departure for İstanbul. In the afternoon visiting the Hippodrome,  the Blue Mosque, the Basilica of St. Sophia and the Topkapı Museum. Dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day 8 : İstanbul - Home

Transfer to the airport for the return flight. (B)
